Designing a kitchen is one of the bigger decisions you will make for your home. Our process is built to take the guesswork out of it. Each step has a clear purpose, a clear outcome, and our team beside you the entire way.

In-Showroom or Virtual Design Meeting
Every project starts with a conversation. You can visit our Rowley showroom to see cabinet samples, door styles, hardware, and countertops in person, or we can meet remotely through our virtual design service if visiting is not convenient.
In this first meeting we get to know your space, your goals, how you cook, how you live, and the look you are drawn to. There is no pressure to make decisions on the spot. We are here to help you think it through.

Measuring Your Space & As-Built Documentation
Accurate measurements are the foundation of a kitchen design that fits. We document your space precisely, including wall lengths, window and door placements, ceiling heights, plumbing, electrical, and any quirks of the existing layout.
If you are working with a contractor, we coordinate directly with them so the as-built documentation is something everyone can rely on. No surprises during installation.

3D Kitchen Renderings & Layout Options
Once we have your space documented and a sense of your vision, we build your kitchen in 3D. You will see realistic renderings of how the cabinets, countertops, and finishes come together long before anything is ordered.
Most homeowners look at two or three layout options. We talk through the trade-offs of each, like whether you want a peninsula or an island, where the trash pull-out should go, how much pantry storage you actually need. The renderings make those decisions much easier to make.

Cabinet & Countertop Selection
This is the fun part. We carry three American-made cabinet lines manufactured by MasterBrand: Omega for fully custom work, Homecrest for the semi-custom middle ground, and Mantra when timeline is the priority.
For surfaces, we feature Cambria quartz alongside other premium countertop options. You will see actual samples, in good light, in our showroom. Door style, finish, hardware, edge profile, sink choice, we walk through each decision together so the final design feels like yours, not ours.

Final Design Approval & Ordering
Before anything is ordered, we review the full design with you one final time. Every cabinet, every dimension, every finish. This is the moment to catch anything that does not feel right, because once the order goes in, the cabinets are built to your exact specifications.
Once you give the green light, we place the order and give you a realistic timeline based on the line you selected. Lead times vary by brand, and we are upfront with you about what to expect.

Delivery, Prep & Installation Support
When your cabinets arrive, we coordinate delivery to your home or directly to your contractor's job site. Our team is available to support the installation process, answer questions from your installer, and troubleshoot anything that comes up.
If you are working with one of our trusted contractor partners, the handoff is seamless. If you are working with your own contractor, we make sure they have everything they need to get your kitchen installed correctly.
Ready to Start With Step 1?
Now that you know how the process works, the next step is a conversation. Visit our Rowley showroom or schedule a virtual meeting. No pressure, no commitment, just a chance to see if we are the right team for your project.

Why Work With a Local Kitchen Design Showroom?
Big-box stores carry cabinets. We design kitchens. The difference shows up in how the process feels and how the finished kitchen turns out.
When you work with us, you sit down with a designer who knows the cabinet lines we carry inside and out, who has measured hundreds of North Shore kitchens, and who is available to take your call when a question comes up two weeks into the project. You see real cabinet doors, in good light, in our Rowley showroom, not a tiny digital swatch on a screen.
Take your time, ask questions, change your mind about the cabinet color. That is what the process is built for. Our family-owned team is here to help you make the right decisions for your home, not to push you toward the highest-margin option.
Serving Homeowners Across the North Shore & Seacoast NH
Our Rowley showroom sits just off Route 1, about a 25-minute drive from Newburyport, 30 minutes from Salem NH, and a straightforward trip from anywhere across the North Shore and the Seacoast. We work with homeowners and contractors throughout the region, and our virtual design services let us partner with clients who live further out or prefer to start the process from home.
If you are still in the early stages, our budget planner is a useful starting point for getting a sense of where your project might land before we sit down together.

Common Questions About Our Kitchen Design Process
The questions we hear most often from homeowners weighing whether to start a kitchen project with us.
How long does the kitchen design process take?
From your first consultation to a signed-off design typically runs 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how quickly decisions get made and how complex the kitchen is. Once cabinets are ordered, lead times vary by brand. Mantra delivers in 2 to 4 weeks, Homecrest in 4 to 6, and fully custom Omega builds can run 8 to 12 weeks.
We give you a realistic timeline before you commit to anything, so you know what to expect.
Do I need to bring measurements to my first consultation?
No. Rough measurements help us prep, but we will do a precise in-home measure once we have narrowed your design direction. For the first conversation, a sketch of your existing kitchen layout or a few cell phone photos is plenty.
What helps more is bringing inspiration images, a rough budget range, and any non-negotiables (a specific appliance, a layout preference, an island you cannot live without).
What does the design consultation cost?
Your first consultation at our Rowley showroom is free. Most homeowners leave with material samples in hand, a rough budget range, and a clear sense of which cabinet brands fit their project. No pressure, no commitment.
If you want to move forward, we put together a full design package. That step has a fee that is credited back to you when you order cabinets.
Can I make changes after the design is approved?
Yes, but the further along you are, the more it costs in both time and money. Once cabinets are ordered, changes can add weeks to your timeline and may not be possible at all on some product lines.
We build review checkpoints into the process so you sign off with confidence before anything goes to order. Most homeowners feel good about decisions because we work through them together, not on the fly.
Will you work with my contractor, or do I need to hire one through you?
We work with your contractor or recommend trusted local installers we have worked with for years. Either way, we coordinate measurements, delivery, and any questions that come up in the field so the install goes smoothly.
If you do not have a contractor yet, ask us. We are not in the business of pushing you toward anyone, but we know the local trades and can point you toward people who do good work.
What if I am not ready to commit to a full renovation yet?
Plenty of homeowners come in months before they are ready to break ground. We can walk through realistic budgets, timing, and material options without any pressure. Honest information now saves a lot of frustration later.
The showroom is open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 10am to 4pm. Walk in whenever, or book a time to make sure a designer is available.
